Smiling Faces Are Not Always Sincere

November 5, 2018

Interesting how you learn and what you learn about people. I was having brunch at my favorite restaurant and sitting very close to me was a group of ladies and men. At first it seemed like a normal gathering of friends. One lady in particular was full of joy and asked everyone to raise their glass to cheer for her. She announced that she found the job of her dreams!

Everyone cheered, smiled and congratulated her. The lady who announced her new job later excused herself to go to the restroom. Not soon after she was gone, one of her friends said "she won't last" and laughed. The rest of group smiled and one other lady let her know that what she said was not nice. The lady simply shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes.

When the lady returned from the restroom, the same lady that spoke about her while she was away yelled out, "OMG I'm so excited for you!" and smiled again. My date and I looked at each other and shook our heads. At first I thought I was in an episode of "What Would You Do?" but John Quinonez was no where around.

Moral of this story ~ Not everyone is genuine, some people are not truly who they seem to be. Some will be jealous of your accomplishments & try to bring you down.  Jealousy is simply a form of hatred built upon insecurity. Maintain your joy and peace.
